The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has refused to grant bail to the immediate past governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose.
The governor was on Monday morning arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on an 11-count charge bordering on abuse of office.

The ex-governor pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to him.

Subsequently, Kanu Agabi, Fayose’s counsel, filed a bail application on behalf of his client.
The presiding judge, Mojisola Olatoregun, however, rejected the application and ordered that Fayose should remain in EFCC custody till Wednesday.
