JUST IN: ASUU Suspends Three Months Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU has announced the suspension of its three months old industrial action, conditionally.

This followed the final clearance and agreements that have been reached between the leadership of the union and Federal Government.

The union equally vowed that it would resume the strike action if the federal government reneged on its newly signed Memorandum of Action.

The meeting came hours before Professor Ogunyemi announced the decision of ASUU to suspend the strike.

It had in attendance leaders of the union and government representatives such as the permanent secretaries at the ministries of Education, as well as Labour and Employment, and some directors from the ministries.
