Udinese have completed the signing of Nigeria defender, William Troost-Ekong from Bursaspor.
On Thursday, the 24-year-old paid tribute to the Green Crocodiles ahead of an imminent switch to Italy. And on Friday afternoon, the Nigeria international was announced as a Udinese player.
“Ekong is a player with an important physical structure,” technical director Daniele Pradè told club website.
“Skilled in the air both in defense and attack. We are talking about an aggressive central defender, strong and with an excellent game reading.
“A reflexive, non-instinctive leader who always tries to play the ball, all characteristics that go very well with the game of coach [Julio] Velazquez.”
Troost-Ekong joined Bursaspor from Gent last summer and featured in 28 Turkish Super Lig encounters, netting thrice – including the consolatory in their 2018-19 season-opener against Fenerbahce.
He will play the upcoming campaign in Julio Velázquez’s setup who open their Serie A campaign with a clash against Parma on Sunday.
